Connect or import your portfolio
WealthWise uses SnapTrade for available brokerage connections. The list in its secure connection window is the source of truth at the time you connect. If your institution is not shown, file import and manual entry remain available.
How the connection works
- Click “Connect” in WealthWise.
- Our provider's secure window displays the currently available institutions.
- Select your brokerage and grant read-only access.
- Your available accounts are imported into WealthWise.
- You can revoke access at any time. WealthWise cannot place trades or initiate withdrawals.
Connection and import options
Available brokerages
Open WealthWise's connection window to see the current list offered by our provider.
View available brokerages →File import
Import a CSV, XLSX, or XLS file, then review every detected holding before adding it.
View the import guide →Disnat (Desjardins)
Direct connection is unfortunately unavailable at this time. Disnat file import remains available.
View Disnat options →Is your brokerage missing?
Request it under Settings → Connected brokers. We measure those requests to prioritize integrations without announcing a date our provider cannot guarantee.
Why connect rather than type manually?
- Time saved: no more manual copy-paste each time you add a position.
- Accuracy: adjusted cost base (ACB) computed automatically from the actual transaction history.
- Dividend tracking: distributions imported with exact dates and amounts.
- Multi-account view: see RRSP + TFSA + non-registered together in one view, without re-entering anything.
- CAD/USD conversion: applied automatically using Bank of Canada rates on each transaction date.
Prefer manual entry?
That still works. WealthWise remains an analytics tool that works with any broker — you can add positions by hand or import a CSV. The automatic connection is a bonus, never required.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know whether my brokerage is available?
Open the secure connection window in WealthWise. The list shown there is the source of truth and may change with provider availability.
Are my brokerage credentials stored by WealthWise?
No. For an available connection, authorization happens in the provider's secure portal. For an import, WealthWise only reads the file you select.
Can WealthWise execute trades for me?
No. Our tokens are read-only. We are not registered as a broker and will never execute transactions on your behalf. WealthWise remains a pure analytics tool.
Can I connect Disnat to WealthWise?
No. A direct Disnat connection is unfortunately not possible through the provider used by WealthWise at this time. You can still import a Disnat file.
Can I use WealthWise without connecting a brokerage?
Yes. You can import a CSV, XLSX, or XLS file or enter holdings manually.
