Total value

This is the real-time market value of your whole portfolio. Good to know: it's shown net of your margin debt — so if you use margin, the number reflects what's truly yours, not the gross value of the securities.

Unrealized gains & return

Unrealized gains are your "paper" profit: the difference between current value and what you paid. The percentage next to it is your return. "Unrealized" means you haven't sold — the gain (or loss) isn't locked in yet.
