Aggregators (Wealthica) are bilingual but prioritize bank aggregation over analytical depth.
International tools (Sharesight, Snowball Analytics) aren't Canada-optimized — no native ACB taxation, no RRSP/TFSA/FHSA support in French.

Every analysis, every projection, every comparison on WealthWise follows strict rules:

Transparent sources — real-time prices via Yahoo Finance, Bank of Canada exchange rates, CRA contribution limits. All data is auditable.
Explicit assumptions — each calculator states its assumptions (expected return, inflation, compounding frequency). You can adjust them.
Published methodology — our guides and calculators are explained in detail (4% rule, weighted-average ACB, Monte Carlo, etc.). No magic.
Pervasive disclaimers — all information is for informational purposes only. For personalized decisions, consult a licensed advisor registered in your province.
No personalized advice — WealthWise is not registered as an investment advisor with provincial securities regulators. No content here constitutes personalized financial or tax advice.

Authentication: Supabase Auth (JWT + Google OAuth + email/password).

Financial prices: Yahoo Finance (real-time, no API key).

Artificial intelligence: Google Gemini 2.5 Flash for portfolio analyses.

Broker connections: SnapTrade (OAuth, read-only). Wealthsimple, Questrade, Disnat, IBKR Canada supported.

Hosting: Vercel (global CDN), Supabase (data — Canada).

Security: forced HTTPS (HSTS preload), strict CSP, full security headers, periodic internal security audits.

Our team

WealthWise is built by a solo developer based in Canada, 22 years old, passionate about finance and technology. The philosophy: "Your tool, your voice." — a tool that serves YOU, not a product designed to maximize a broker's commissions.

This independence allows for a neutral editorial stance: our broker comparisons (Wealthsimple vs Questrade vs Disnat) and ETF comparisons (XEQT vs VEQT vs VFV) are not biased by affiliate partnerships.
