Pairwise overlap
Important: this is an approximation based on published top holdings, sometimes expanded one level. A low result may understate full overlap; check provider factsheets before making a decision.

How the calculation works
- Published top holdings are loaded for each ETF.
- Equivalent symbols are normalized.
- For every shared stock, the smaller weight is retained.
- Those weights form the pairwise overlap estimate.
Why it matters
Two ETFs with different names can hold the same large companies. Seeing that distinction separates your number of funds from your real diversification.
Frequently asked questions
Is high overlap always bad?
No. It may be intentional. The tool makes exposure visible; it does not recommend buying or selling.
Why is coverage not always 100%?
Public sources often provide only top holdings. WealthWise displays that limitation instead of presenting the estimate as exhaustive.
Are my symbols stored?
They are used for the public request and shareable URL. The page does not ask for identity or account data.
